Breast Screening – Summer 2011

The NHS Breast Screening Programme provides free breast screening (mammography) every 3 years for all women aged between 50 and 70.

All eligible women who are registered with this Practice and who live in Gloucestershire will soon be sent a letter inviting them to attend an appointment for a mammogram. (Women living in Wiltshire will be screened at a future date.)

Patients over 70 years of age who wish to be screened need to contact the Breast Screening Department direct on 08454 223786.

All the GPs here at Phoenix Surgery strongly encourage you to attend for this simple and quick appointment. Remember - breast screening saves an estimated 1,400 lives each year in this country.
