SERVICES

All the partners provide a full range of medical services including new patient health checks, contraceptive services, child health surveillance, minor surgery, health promotion advice and care during pregnancy.

STAYWELL 75+

Staywell 75+ is an award-winning, preventative healthcare scheme, which is co-ordinated by our health visitor for older people. The scheme encourages all patients aged 75 years and over to be actively involved in their own health care. Annual postal questionnaires are sent out to the majority of people. Some patients are assisted by Staywell’s trained volunteers to complete Winchester questionnaires. The information that patients provide is kept strictly confidential and is used to assist health professionals to monitor health difficulties arising at an early stage, which can prevent existing conditions becoming suddenly worse. This can help, in the long term, to limit admissions to hospital or care homes. Patients are visited in their own homes, as necessary, by Annabel McEune or Tracey Lear.

Staywell volunteers are trained and fully supported by Annabel or Tracey and the scheme administrator, Pamela Porter, who are always interested to hear from anyone who would like to become a volunteer visitor. Further information is available on www.staywell75.co.uk.

“Indigo” - Young Persons’ Service

This service is open to all young people whether they are registered at the Phoenix surgery or not. It is run by Lynn, one of our practice nurses, supported by Dr McInerney.

Anyone aged 13 years and over can be seen for CONFIDENTIAL health and lifestyle advice. This means that we will not disclose any information about you or any other young person without your permission. However, if you are under 16 years and are at risk of being harmed we have a duty to protect you. This may involve sharing information with other key people after discussion with you.

We currently hold an after school drop-in at the Phoenix surgery on Thursdays between 3.30 and 5.00pm. In addition there are drop-ins during term time at Kingshill Secondary School on Friday lunchtimes and on Monday evenings between 6.30 and 7.30pm at the Impact Youth & Community Centre.

We are also happy to see any young person outside drop-in times if it is an emergency.

Indigo confidentiality cards explaining more about local services for young people are available in the waiting room.

If you have any suggestions as to how we can improve this service please let us know.
